This project was conducted under the research grant for faculty under the IoE Scheme (Grant Number: 6031) at Banaras Hindu University.
We investigated the effect of quantum gravity on the thermodynamic properties of solids by incorporating the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) into the quantization of electromagnetic radiation fields. Using the GUP framework, we derived corrections to both Einstein’s and Debye’s specific heat models. In particular, we found that GUP-induced modifications lead to changes in the dispersion relation of elastic waves, resulting in measurable corrections to the specific heat of solids at low and high temperatures.
